Datu Paduka Mat Salleh Memorial
The Memorial located at Tibabar Village, Tambunan, about 85 km from Kota Kinabalu town. The Memorial was built under the Sabah State Museum Government to commemorate the true warrior of Sabah, Datu Paduka Mat Salleh on his courage and strength for leading a rebellion against the British rule during colonial times in 1894-1900. Datu Paduka Mat Salleh was among the fears enemies to the British army and he was killed in a gun battle with the British army on Feb 1st, 1900.

Murut people are one of the Sabah’s largest ethnic community living in the southwest interior of Sabah, east Malaysia. The Muruts are devided into two subgroups, Tagol and Timugon and ussually can be found in a districts of Keningau, Tenom and Nabawan Pensiangan.
