Calling all sumandak-sumandak who stay in Kota Kinabalu area, age between sweet 18 – 25 years old with minimum height of 5′ 2” are encourage to participate in the most happening Unduk Ngadau beauty pageant this year.


First stage selection : 5 May 2009
Venue : First floor, Meeting hall, DBKK
Time : 1300 – 1700

Second stage selection : 8 May 2009
Venue : Hotel Le Meridien, KK
Time : 1900 – 2300

Final stage selection : 14 – 16 May 2009
Venue : Lintasan Deasoka, KK
Time : 1700

3 finalist will automatically represents Kota Kinabalu, Tg. Aru and Likas district which eligible them to go to the Grand Finale Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2009 in Penampang this 30th – 31st May 2009.

What is this all about?

16th Regatta Lepa Water Festival 2009
The Annual Water Festival of the Sea Gypsy in Sabah


Venue : Semporna, Sabah.
Date : 18th to 19th April 2009
Day 1 : Regatta Lepa 2009 launching, Bajau Cultural performances (Igal–Igal Dance and Joget Semporna)
Day 2 : Traditional boat tug of war, boat racing competition (Keleh keleh), Lepa boat parade.

Regatta Lepa is a dramatic cultural event held annually in Semporna town, the east coast of Sabah. Regatta Lepa is a festival to celebrates the Bajau tradition for their craftsmanship skilled in hand-made boat making. ‘Lepa’ itself means a ‘boat that hand-made crafted’ in Bajau Semporna language, usually measured about 5-7 meters long. During the Regatta Lepa festivals, there will be a competition of decorative Lepa boats, a battle to show off which Lepa boats are the best.


Halo guys! how your Sunday?
Well for me, last Sunday was not something super interesting compare to my previous ”I Know What You Did Last Sunday!”, just want to share some bits + pieces of what is happening yesterday. I was at Tenom with the LIB team for an event coverage, Pesta Kalimaran 2009, which was held annually at the Murut Cultural Centre, southern part of Tenom, Sabah.
