The forgotten Hutan Lipur Kawang..
Maybe some of you might know this place already but some might don’t as this place starting to be forgotten and it’s a pity because this place have a nice + great landscape for relaxing, picnic and camping.
The place situated at Papar district call Kawang, about 30km away and will takes you around 45 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA T1).
Once you reach the Kawang-Papar road, drive along further about 5km
Buffalo or locally called Karabau.
Don’t miss this small signboard to the park and you’ll see a small cement road path on the left.
and drive again further inside until you reach the main gate to Pusat Sejadi Hutan Lipur Kawang.

You’ll reach this Information Centre before you walk further to the park.
The time I visit the park, the place seems so queit and it was only one staff working inside the main office.

This was one of the man-made ponds at the lowest level. There are about 3 man-made ponds available at 3 different water level.

There’s also a hut built for those who love to picnic, lucky this time there were few families around.
For those who never seen of how the village folks doing the rubber tree plantation, this is the place to see it very close.
There are rubber tree all over the area.
Not just rubber tree but this flower is also available where you’ll see it mainly in Kinabalu Park.

a path to lead you to a chalet.
There are only two chalet that I can spot on this park, will cost you around RM60 – RM70 a night.
as what you can see here, it’s something like a scene from Silent Hill the movie.
Is it there’s no water or just this thing doesn’t work anymore..
Pity this place really have a great + nice landscape of rainforest..
and the fresh air was really refreshing..
The goverment together with the forest ministry should do something about it to make sure the Pusat Sejadi Hutan Lipur Kawang keep on the list of Sabah’s calendar of interesting places to visit.
